Absolutely spectacular! Intimate Impressionism at the Legion of Honor is a must see. What a collection. Additional paintings (Vuillard & van Gogh) from the museums permanent collection were also brought out of storage and featured in the regular Impressionist room upstairs. Posting a few combined highlights and also added individual close ups to my regular Pinterest Museums & Art board. It’s a beautiful spring afternoon in San Francisco.

who is the painting of the sailboat called in the third collage? also what is it called?
The painting is called Breezing Up (A Fair Wind) by American artist Winslow Homer. It depicts a catboat called the Gloucester. At one point the adult held both the sheet and the tiller, a position initially adapted from an oil study of 1874 titled The Flirt.
